Lemons and limes to Help Manage a Diabetic Diet
Lemons and limes belong to the citrus fruit family, and almost the same.
Citrus fruits are included in a list of 10 superfoods that the American Diabetes Association (ADA) announced.
Citrus fruits are well-known for their abundance of vitamin C, and their pulp also adds fiber to a diet.
In particular, the high levels of soluble fiber in lemons and limes offer those with diabetes the most benefits.

Both lemons and limes also have limonoids that are known to be potent when it comes to fighting carcinogens. Therefore, lemons and limes are believed to be effective in removing cells that may cause cancer. Lemons and limes can also “alkalize” the body. This is helpful in neutralizing the wastes that are extra acidic. When you have too much acid in the body, this can lead to cellular damage. Experts also say too much acid results to inflammation, which is harmful as it is discovered to be one of the causes of serious illnesses, including heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
Lemons and limes are both amazing, especially if you take a look at their benefits. Although lemons have a little bit of advantage over limes in some areas, there is no doubt that these two are great for your health.
